The Fond Dinner Series

Just Food is a Lawrence, Kansas-based non-profit organization that focuses on relieving food insecurity in Douglas County. My client asked me to help them create a base for an event series. The series calls for a handful of chefs to curate a dinner for their patrons as a nod to their fond memories of food as children. This ties in with the culinary term, “fond,” the foundational technique of cooking for soups and sauces that uses the flavorful brown bits left behind in the pot after browning meat/veggies.

The goal was to build a design guideline that exhibits nostalgia, childhood, and Fond Memories themes. This series will help raise funds for the non-profit to continue fulfilling its mission.
